Year Built: 1938
Style: English Bungalow (Period Revival)
Builder: Elmer P. Schler
The Homeowners: Alex and Rose
Like many folks you meet in Arizona, Alex and Rose are not originally from here. Alex (born in Melbourne, Australia and eventually residing in NJ) and Rose (Rochester, NY) met in the mid-80s. The desire for a change of scenery and work opportunities brought them to Arizona.
In 2016, while poring through real estate listings, they decided to “upsize” into a single-family home, with a little more space, and a bedroom that opened up to a private backyard with some greenery. The charming 1930’s bungalow was everything that they envisioned for their next home with original oak floors and crown molding throughout. The French doors in the master suite open to the back patio with a lush backyard and additional living space in a detached studio. They knew right away that this was THE house as soon as they saw it…on their very first visit!
When asked what they consider the favorite aspect of living in the Willo Historic District, Alex responded without hesitation…THE PEOPLE. That says it all!
