3rd/5th Avenue Project Update:

3rd: As some may have noticed, striping is in full steam on 3rd this week, and the driving lane (middle lane) is now almost evident:

  1. The right side is a 2-way bike path.
  2. The middle lane is the drive lane.
  3. The left lane is parking (except for certain areas such as near the park, Encanto Blvd, etc.

What I do not know as of yet:

The final use of Bollards and/or the Green Posts (the ugly ones in Roosevelt) and continue to try and get an answer. Again, working with all new City Staff is not easy. More to follow.

What you will notice is that the driving lane is smaller. We are a neighborhood per the Willo Conservation Plan , and 3rd Avenue no longer looks like an extension of a freeway.

5th Avenue:

As some may notice, there is significant activity at the Encancto/5th Avenue area as crews are working, and more activity will occur up and down 5th Avenue this fall.

In closing, thank you again to many of you who have been involved with this plan for many years. As mentioned before, this project’s history is on Willophx.com under 3rd/5th, and these are your TAX dollars at work and not Willo Treasury.

Please respect the construction crews and drive at the speed limit—many thanks to them for working in this continued heat.
