From the President: 102 W Cypress

Your Willo representatives (three Zoning Chairs, a Past President and myself) attended the hearing today concerning 102 W. Cypress. The demolition request was granted. The owner provided a tour for us along with a local historic architect. It was found to be completely salvageable. We will be filing an appeal to this demolition approval. It will next go to the historic Preservation Committee.

We need your help Willo and surrounding neighbors! Here’s what you can do. Sign the petition thst our Zoning Chair, Paul Benjamin has created at Change.org. Watch for updates on Nextdoor and at Willohistoricdistrict.Com so we can let you know when the upcoming hearing is. Then, please attend. We will need bodies in the seats…perhaps all the way to the City Council.

We are already getting help from experts in surrounding neighborhoods. I’ve already heard from G.G. George (Encanto/Palmcroft), Ginger Mattox and Steve Dreisezen (F.Q. Story), and more. Neighbors, please comment on Nextdoor so your friends can hear from you just how important this is to neighborhood historic preservation.
