May 5th, 2025 – Update on 5th Avenue as we are now in the final stages of the project

Update on 5th Avenue as we are now in the final stages of the project:

1. Thank you for your patience as the City continues striping of 5th Avenue.
2. Please note that the 5th Avenue design differs north of Encanto Boulevard and South of Encanto Boulevard, primarily due to the variance in the width of the entire space and the absence of sidewalks north of Encanto Boulevard.
3. The goal was also to slow traffic down and do our best to make 5th a neighborhood street, as opposed to 5th Avenue, a non-stop expressway to McDowell.
4. Of course, this project is not perfect, and we will do our best to address any changes that benefit the community and the general public, as these are City of Phoenix Streets.
